D.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, M.Sc. (Honors) in Operations Research, and MBA in Information Systems.A frequent speaker and writer for the Protection, Automation & Control World magazine and congress, and an active member in Professional Societies both National and International, he is a member of IEC, CIGRE and IEEE Power & Energy Society, and a teacher at post-graduation courses on administration and engineering at UFPE and UPE, in Brazil.
A Current Advisor and former Vice-Director of the Brazilian Maintenance Association, he is the Chairman of the Brazilian National Committee for IEC TC 57 and WG 10 on Power Systems Management and Associated Information Exchange, Chairman for CIGRE Study Committee B5 on Protection and Automation, former convenor of CIGRE WG B5.32 on Functional Testing of IEC 61850 Based Systems, Special Reporter for the CIGRE General Session on Life Cycle Management of Protection and Control Systems, convenor of the CIGRE Joint Working Group on Reliability-Centered Maintenance of Oil-Immersed Transformers.
He is a recipient of the CIGRE Technical Committee Award for his contributions to the Protection and Automation areas, and the Brazilian Engineering Premium for his contributions to Energy Sustainability.
Author of three books on Engineering, Industrial Managing and Operations Research, currently he is the Manager of Automation and Protection Systems at CHESF, President of TECNIX E.A.R. Ltd., and Chairman of CIGRE Study Committee B5 on Protection and Automation.
